I am a Licensed Real Estate Broker and founder of True Real Estate d/b/a Sarasota Buyer Agent, a Licensed Real Estate Instructor and Exclusive Buyer Broker/Agent serving the Sarasota area for over twenty five years. The extent of my practical experience in Sarasota real estate is indicative of the level of service you can expect.
Local market knowledge is extremely important. So I visit lots of homes and have a very good knowledge of the local real estate market, as I have for decades.
My formal education is extensive. I am a graduate of New York University (Bachelor of Science - 1989) and have earned more professional certifications and designations than any other licensed real estate professional in the State of Florida (possibly nationally).
Since I never list homes or work with sellers, all of my time is dedicated to helping residential home buyers. This is important because most Realtors spend the lion's share of their time marketing to get more listings. They spend a lot of time trying to get and then attending listing appointments, whether they are successful or not. Then they have to market the listings they acquire. More time is spent on things like dealing with HOA's, hiring photographers and hosting open houses. Since I don't have to do any of these things, I have more time to spend with you. Specializing in buyer agency allows me to be focused and dedicated to helping home buyers much more effectively than a jack of all trades.
I always leave early so arrive about twenty minutes prior to showings, appointments and meetings. You can count on me 100% of the time.

There is no bait & switch with me! I will help you through the entire process. I may have one of my licensed real estate agents assist with work in the field but I am always just a text or phone call away. I have been a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the Florida Association of Realtors (FAR) and the Sarasota Association of Realtors (which in 2014 became the Realtor Association of Sarasota and Manatee Counties) for over twenty five years.
In 2013, I was inducted into the NAR's Real Estate Buyers Agent Council (REBAC) Hall of Fame at the national conference/convention in San Francisco. They even gave me an Italian crystal vase made by Tiffany which, to this day, sits on my desk as a paperclip holder!

So what's the deal with a Single Agent vs Transaction Broker & Client vs Customer? Dual Agency is when an agent represents both sides of any transaction. This is illegal in Florida! As an EBA providing you with representation and fiduciary duties, I act as a Single Agent and you are my client. Most consumers don't realize that 99.9% of the other agents act as Transaction Brokers and have customers who they do NOT represent. Transaction Brokers represent the transaction, not you! So while most consumers think their agent has their back, this is, unfortunately, not the case. Be sure to ask for and sign the Single Agent Brokerage Relationship Agreement, as without this I am just considered a transaction broker!
