When visiting Sarasota to purchase a home, many times you have in mind your “dream property”.
You have the style, colors and neighborhood visualized in your mind, and you have diligently searched the internet into the wee hours to find a home that fits the image.
One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is to see the look on people’s faces when they first see “my Sarasota”. When I drive them down quaint historic streets and canopied beach lanes. When they see miles of interesting and unique shops and restaurants, theaters and galleries. When they see people biking over the John Ringling Bridge, across a span of some of the most gorgeous water views in the world. When they see their first manatee, up close and personal, right off St. Armand’s Circle. When they see Sarasota from the ground, and not from a Google satellite. When their eyes are opened to the amazing diversity in options, and the exciting opportunity to live on the bayfront…or in a historic old cottage …or blocks from the beach.
Dreams of the perfect home are re-shaped before my eyes as they see fun and eclectic downtown Main Street. Or see the stunning view, for the first time, from a Lido Beach condo. Their ideas of living at the beach might give way to beautiful and green Palmer Ranch, as they visualize themselves and their kids bike riding down those scenic paths with all the other families.
When visiting Sarasota for the first time, be prepared to see the unexpected. We are far from an ordinary beach town. Keep an open mind about what you are about to see – and sit back and enjoy! Regardless of the outcome, I can guarantee one thing – you are going to love it here.
