This Halloween, enjoy something for everyone at the 3rd annual Pumpkin Festival.
The Sarasota Pumpkin Festival will be jamb-packed with everything the family looks forward to at this time of year: pumpkin-carving, pony rides and hay rides, as well as big rides and plenty of food! In addition to traditional Fall foods, Chinese, Mexican, seafood and vegetarian dishes will be available, along with more traditional fare. Don’t forget the candy apples!
The Pumpkin Festival also features over 100 shows! There are plenty of animals in the petting zoo in addition to: a trapeze aerial and animal thrill show; equestrian show; pig races, and a bear show. Alaskan Grizzly Bear “Tonk” will host an educational program focused on helping kids learn the importance of protecting the environment. Kids will be able to feed Tonk a “bear kabob” for a small fee. Make sure you stick around for demonstrations by: the fencing academy, tae kwon do martial arts, drum studio, school of rock, and capoeira, a martial arts/ dance set to music.
Other activities include a rock-climbing wall and concert by the Sarasota Gold Orchestra. The Pumpkin Festival will have safe trick-or-treating on Friday and Saturday night and a “not-so-scary” haunted house for the little ones. As a finale to the Sarasota Pumpkin Festival, lighting of the “pumpkin tower” will be held Sunday at 8pm.
