We don’t like to brag. But it’s warmer here.
I used to work for a company in Mississauga, ON, and have spent many a winter braving the cold air in the Canadian north. I can tell you without hesitation, that I enjoy our climate down here a bit more. I understand, you like to ski and play hockey. But I also know you like to golf, and bike ride, and walk the beach.
Enter Sarasota.
Sarasota is home to thousands of wintering Canadians. Admit it, many of your friends are already here. As I write this, it is November 17, and it is 24 degrees outside. That is, 24 degrees Celsius in comparison to your 4 degrees Celsius (75 degrees vs. 39 degrees, for all you Americans). The weather is sunny and warm, the beaches are full of beach trekkers, and the palm trees are swaying. Not to mention, the deals are hot. This may be your year.
A common misconception is that there are some special requirements to purchase a home in the United States. However, there are no restrictions to your purchase of a second home in warm and sunny Sarasota – after all, we love Canadians, and we love having you here. (We apologize that there is no Tim Hortons, but we do our best with Dunkin’ Donuts). Sarasota actually has great little coffee shops all around town, and you can sit outside to enjoy your morning cup of coffee – without earmuffs, that is.
In all seriousness, it is an easy transaction for our Canadian friends to purchase Sarasota real estate. As exclusive buyer agents, we can work with you to determine which properties will best suit your desired winter lifestyle. We will be happy to walk you through the entire buying process from start to finish, and can have you enjoying your warm weather oasis before the next major snowstorm hits. From showing to financing to closing, we’ll be with you every step of the way.
For a variety of reasons, most of our Canadian clientele favor one community in particular. Stoneybrook Golf and Country Club is far and away the preferred neighborhood from our visiting friends from the north, primarily because it mirrors the type of resort communities often found in Canada. The community offers condominiums, villas and single family homes behind the gates of a newly renovated country club. You will find golf, tennis, fitness and an active social calendar; as well as many friends who live and play here on a part time basis. The fees for the club are also quite reasonable by country club standards – roughly $5,000 per year. The community is also friendly to guests and tenants, allowing you to lend out your winter hideaway, complete with golf membership, to family and friends. There is a $500 per year restaurant requirement, and guests must pay a small guess fee to golf on your membership.
Stoneybrook is located on popular Palmer Ranch, and as such is also located close to world famous Siesta Key. With well appointed 2 BR condos starting as low as $150K, complete with golf course views, this may be the warm weather haven you are dreaming about.
True Real Estate is a full service exclusive buyer agency – we’ll even introduce you to some of our favorite people, who just happen to be Canadian. Come on down, the weather is fine. We look forward to seeing you soon.
